من جانبه شكر إبراهيم أبو سليم نائب رئيس اتحاد كرة القدم جهود عبد السلام هنية في دعم الأندية وتنفيذ البرامج والمشاريع التي تخدم الرياضة، وأوضح أن الاتحاد يعمل في ظروف صعبة في ظل الضائقة المالية، وأكد أنه وخلال زيارته الأخيرة لرام الله اطلع على الجهود المبذولة لتأمين المنحة الرئاسية للأندية، وقال أنه حصل على وعد بتوفير المنحة خلال أسبوعين.
